How does Page Pairer know which pages to pair?
| Page Pairer requires users when printing a completed page to file,
to save it with a file name that includes the page number. For example:
lefigaro.12, it then knows which page it is and pairs it up appropriately.
The number can be anywhere in the filename and integrated with Page
Pairer using a simple script as part of the installation. |
Can Page Pairer be integrated into my workflow?
| As Page Pairer works using a hot folder approach integration with
existing workflows using simple scripting is very easy. |
Does Page Pairer need to run on its own hardware?
| Page Pairer uses very little processing power so it often runs on
existing hardware as long as the other applications it is sharing are
not using up all the CPU. |
Can I see the status a newspaper at a glance?
| At any point from anywhere on the network users can see the exact
status of the newspaper. The screen shot on the home page is an example
of how the exact status of each page in the paper is displayed. |
How does it handle double page spreads?
| It will automatically split a double page spread and pair the halves
or keep the spread together if appears as a centrefold. |
How does it deal with colour files?
| Colour files are detected automatically along with their separations
and matched up with the pairing page whether it is colour or black and
white. |
Can I reverse the yellow plate?
| On some presses it can mean the difference between being able to print
another 4 pages in that days newspaper by being able to remove the blanket
on the yellow plate and print directly onto the paper. This is easily
done in Page Pairer. |
How much training is required?
| The software requires minimal changes to the workings of the newspaper
editorial staff so installation and training can normally be done in
one day. |
Does it handle multiple editions?
| Page Pairer can handle both multiple editions where at different times
some of the pages may be updated as well as multiple editions where
some of the pages vary because of regional editions. |
Can Page Pairer handle multiple sections in a newspaper?
| Yes, as well as being able to handle fly sheets (for newspapers that
are multiple of 2 pages not a multiple of 4). |
Can I preview the paired pages?
| Yes Page Pairer creates a PDF preview of the paired pages. |
Can I rotate alternate pairs 180 degrees to line up my punches?
| Yes. Page Pairer also allows different setups for each individual
pair if required. |
